5 Days Morocco Bird guide

First day of your 5 Days Morocco Bird guide, we'll meet you at your hotel in Agadir or pick you up from the local airport if you've arrived the day before (please contact us in advance if you need accommodation the night before the tour begins). The day starts with a scenic drive heading north, where we’ll make stops along the way to explore some of Morocco’s prime birding spots.

First, we’ll visit a beach area where we can observe a variety of gull species, including Lesser Black-backed Gulls, Audouin's Gulls, and Yellow-legged Gulls. Afterward, we’ll continue our journey to the Tamri Estuary, a key birding location along the coast. Here, we’ll search for the elusive Northern Bald Ibis, a rare and special species that thrives in this area.

After a rewarding day of birdwatching, we’ll transfer you back to Agadir for dinner and a comfortable overnight stay at a local hotel, allowing you to rest and prepare for the exciting days ahead.

After a delicious breakfast, we set out for a day of birdwatching at two renowned sites: Oued Massa and Oued Souss, both located along the Atlantic coast.

Our first stop will be the famous Oued Massa, where we’ll search for a variety of species, including the secretive Black-crowned Tchagra, the endangered Moroccan Cormorant, and the colorful Moussier's Redstart. In addition, we'll keep an eye out for other fascinating birds such as the Marbled Duck, Stone Curlew, Laughing Dove, and Brown-throated Martin, which all inhabit this area.

Next, we’ll visit Oued Souss, an ideal location for observing Flamingos and various shorebirds, as well as roosting gulls and terns. This region is rich in birdlife, making it a prime spot for those interested in diverse avian species.

After a rewarding day of birding, we’ll transfer you back to your hotel in Agadir for a relaxing dinner, where you can unwind and reflect on the memorable bird sightings from the day.

As we explore Paradise Valley, we’ll target a range of exciting species, including the striking Blue Rock Thrush, the agile Crag Martin, and the bold Black Wheatear. We’ll also look for the majestic Bonelli's Eagle soaring overhead, along with the elusive Barbary Partridge, the vibrant Black Redstart, and the fast-flying Little Swift.

In the afternoon, after a fulfilling day of birdwatching in these picturesque areas, we’ll transfer you back to Agadir. You’ll have the evening to relax, enjoy a delicious dinner, and unwind at your local hotel, reflecting on the day's birding highlights.

we head to Guelmim, often referred to as the "Gateway to the Moroccan Sahara," for an exciting day of birding in the desert. Our first stop will be in the Anti-Atlas Mountains, where we'll search for the Rock Bunting, a striking species found in rocky, mountainous areas.

Next, we'll venture into the Sahara Desert, where we’ll target several unique desert-adapted species. We may spot the White-crowned Wheatear and the Spanish Sparrow, as well as the Fulvous Babbler among the Prickly Pears. Our search for the elusive Red-rumped Wheatears will take us further into the arid terrain. We’ll also explore the rocky areas in search of Thick-billed Larks and Bar-tailed Larks, both species that thrive in the desert's challenging environment.

After a full day of birdwatching, we’ll return to Guelmim for dinner and a restful overnight stay at a local hotel, reflecting on the remarkable desert birdlife encountered throughout the day.

After breakfast, we head out to explore the Tan-Tan road, an area known for its diverse desert birdlife. As we 5 Days Morocco Bird guide through the cultivated plains, we’ll target several desert species, including the Cream-coloured Courser, Greater Hoopoe Lark, and Long-legged Buzzard. We may also encounter both Greater and Lesser Short-toed Larks in these open plains.

Next, we’ll explore the stony desert terrain, where we hope to spot Scrub Warblers, Spectacled Warblers, and more Bar-tailed Larks, as well as the elusive Temminck’s Lark, all of which thrive in these arid conditions.

After enjoying a relaxing lunch in a nearby oasis, we’ll keep an eye out for the Trumpeter Finch, a beautiful and striking species commonly found in these areas.

In the afternoon, we’ll return to Agadir, where you’ll have time to unwind. You’ll stay at a local hotel for the night, enjoying dinner and reflecting on the memorable birdwatching experiences of the day.
