Itinerary
Today, we will be meeting you at your hotel or picking you up from the airport if you arrive the day before the birding tour begins. (Accommodation the night before the birding tour is available upon request—please contact us for details.)
Our 7 Days Morocco Birds tour adventure in Morocco begins with a scenic drive northwest to El Jadida, where we will have the opportunity to observe a diverse range of bird species in their natural habitat. From the Cattle Egret, Calandra Lark, White Stork, Crested Lark, Common Bulbul to the Spotless Starling.
After a fulfilling day of birding, we will enjoy a delicious dinner in El Jadida and settle into a local hotel for the night, preparing for the next day's adventures.
Today, our 7 Days Morocco Birds tour adventure takes us along the beautiful Atlantic coast, where we’ll primarily focus on searching for the elusive Small Buttonquail, but we’ll also have the opportunity to observe a variety of other species, including the local African Reed Warbler, Zitting Cisticola, and Sardinian Warbler.
As the day comes to a close, we make our way to Casablanca and Rabat where we will savor a delicious dinner and spend the night at a local hotel in Rabat, reflecting on the day's exciting discoveries.
Today, we embark on our 7 Days Morocco Birds tour southeast of Rabat into the King’s hunting forest, the Zaers. Our aim is to seek out the elusive Double-spurred Francolin. Additionally, we hope to catch sight of the Black-crowned Tchagra, along with other thrilling species such as the Black-shouldered Kite, Woodpigeon, Greenfinch, Serin, Redstart, and the Barbary Partridge.
Afterward, we head to the Atlantic coast, visiting the picturesque lagoons and freshwater lakes around Lac de Sidi Bourhaba. This area is home to a range of waterfowl, including Red-knobbed Coots, Marbled Duck, and the White-headed Duck.
In the evening, we return to Rabat for a well deserved rest, dinner and overnight accommodation at a local hotel.
Today, we head north to Merdja Zerga, famously known as the "Blue Lagoon," where we will explore its rich birdlife. As we venture through the marshes, we anticipate sightings of Greenshank and Redshank, along with lingering ducks and flamingos. The marshes of Merdja Zerga are also one of the few places to find the elusive African Marsh Owl.
After exploring the lagoon, we will leisurely stroll along the sandy shores of the Atlantic Ocean, keeping an eye out for seabirds like the Balearic Shearwater.
In the evening, we return to Rabat for a peaceful night's rest, dinner and overnight accommodation at a local hotel.
Today, our 7 Days Morocco Birds tour progresses as we embark on a journey southeast towards Midelt, with a planned birding stop in Azrou. Here, we will search for the Lesser Kestrel, a striking raptor often seen in this area.
As we explore the Middle Atlas, we will be on high alert for the endemic Levaillant's Green Woodpecker and the Ruddy Shelduck. We will also venture into the famous Cedar forests, which offers a unique opportunity to spot a diverse range of woodland species such as the Firecrest, Wood Lark, Great Spotted Woodpecker, Coal Tit, and Atlas Flycatcher. As we may also catch a glimpse of the curious Barbary Apes, which are commonly found in these forests.
After a fruitful day of birding, we will enjoy dinner and settle in for the night at a local hotel or riad in Zaida.
Today, we will head to the Zaida Plain, a prime location for birding. Our main goal is to catch a glimpse of the elusive Dupont's Lark, a species that is rarely spotted in any other location. We will also have the chance to observe a variety of other fascinating species, including the Desert Wheatear, Red-rumped Wheatear, Spectacled Warbler, Thekla Lark, Seebohm's Wheatear, and Short-toed Lark.
After a day full of birding, we will return to Zaida for a relaxing dinner and spend the night at a local hotel or riad.
On the final day of your tour, we will transfer you from Zaida to either Marrakech or Casablanca, depending on your preference. During our 7 Days Morocco Birds tour, we will make birding stops through the Middle Atlas Mountains, giving you the opportunity for a few last sightings of the area's diverse bird species.
After the birding stops, we will continue our journey towards your chosen destination. Once we arrive, We will gather for a final dinner together and provide accommodation at a local hotel, concluding your memorable bird-watching adventure in Morocco.
